When doing research about adding radiant barrier to an attic, a lot of people end up asking the question: “Should I install Radiant Barrier on rafters and over insulation? If one layer is good, isn’t two layers better?”
This thought makes logical sense because more of a good thing is usually a good thing. However with radiant barrier it’s important to remember that just one layer is already a great thing! This means adding a second layer usually won’t double your results. In fact, in many cases just one layer of AtticFoil radiant barrier can make huge improvements in both the hot summers and the cold winters.
